The National Weather Service in Brownsville has extended the * Flood Warning for... West Central Cameron County in deep south Texas... East Central Hidalgo County in deep south Texas... * Until 200 PM CDT Saturday. * At 1147 AM CDT, Emergency management continues to report limited road closures across small portions of northwest Cameron and northeast Hidalgo Counties due to ongoing flooding from past and recent heavy rain. The areal flood waters continue to slowly recede with draining of flood waters taking another few days to completely dry up for the roads that are being impacted to open. Flooding is already occurring with 2 and 5 inches of rain falling since Hurricane Hanna dumped 10 to 15 inches 13 days ago. Some locations that continue to experience flooding include... FM 506 north of La Feria, State Highway 107 and FM 1425 at Kika dela Garza near Santa Rosa, FM 1015, 491, and 1422 north and west of Edcouch and Elsa. Avoid any flooded roadways, do not cross barriers or road closure signs.
