Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

Perez Elementary honored Dr. Seuss birthday on Thursday, March 2, 2017.  The famous author was celebrated and honored that day and the week that followed.  First through fifth graders at Perez Elementary, kicked off Dr. Seuss week with a fabulous presentation of “Seussville” and a special guest appearance by the Cat in the Hat.  The students sang and danced to some of his most famous stories like McElligot’s Pool and Horton Hears a Who.  Students and staff wore hats and dressed up as their favorite Seuss characters.  On Friday, the celebration continued at Perez Elementary with the students wearing stars to commemorate the Sneetches.  Pre-k students feasted on breakfast of green eggs and ham.  The Cat in the Hat came to Perez Elementary and read to the students the famous book.

The following week continued in celebration.  The students honored a different book every day of the week.  Monday honored The Lorax and students sported their gigantic and furry mustaches. Tuesday was twins day.  Thing One and Thing Two were recognized and students dressed like twins and wore crazy hair.  Wacky Wednesday was the wackiest day of all.  Students wore wacky attire that was mismatched and inside out.  Thursday featured If I Ran a Zoo.  Student wore animal print for the day.  Students were exhausted by Friday. They closed the week by wearing pajamas and having a relaxing day snuggled with a book during a read-a-thon.
